Sin Slayers: The First Sin Demo

Rarely do we see games impress us nowadays, as most of them focus on the more cosmetic aspect of things rather than good gameplay or stories. Fortunately, once in a blue moon there comes a title that can get you all excited about finally having something worth playing, and one such example would be Sin Slayers: The First Sin.

Sin Slayers: The First Sin is an RPG with roguelike elements at heart, focusing on the intricate party management systems you see in RPGs, but with the world exploring features of the roguelike genre. Combat is TBS and extremely challenging, preventing you from getting bored since poor party management may lead to a complete team wipe even on your very first mission.

The entire story of the game takes place in a dark fantasy realm where the demons of Hell have taken dominion over the world, with each Lord of Hell representing one of the seven deadly sins. The sin a Lord represents will affect the way your party will interact with the environment, and can make you change strategies at a moment's notice.

It is not uncommon for your party to find loot, corpses or chests on the ground, but the problem is that depending on the realm you are currently in, looting them may end up adding an amount of sin to your party. Sin is a measure by with you measure your party's corruption, and high levels of sin will make monster encounters to be more difficult, as it increases all of their life, while subsequently increasing the loot you may get from them. However, a silver lining comes in the form of redeeming actions you may be able to take, such as refusing to loot certain objects.

If you love challenging RPGs set in dark fantasy worlds such as darkest Dungeons, and can't seem to find something that may have a feel close to that one, then you might as well give Sin Slayers: The First Sin a try
