Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper Demo
Sherlock Holmes matches his wits with the most notorious serial killer in England int his point-and-click adventure game #Sherlock Holmes #Jack the Ripper #Adventure game #Sherlock #Holmes #Jack
Sherlock Holmes is one of the most beloved detective ever devised, as it is fairly obvious from the fact that there are countless movies, TV shows and video games that portray him and his loyal friend Dr. Watson. However, his greatest strength is his intelligence, because he is able to figure out clues that no one else would and bring even the most ingenious criminals to justice.
As the title practically gives it all away, Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper allows you to play as Sherlock and try to figure out the clues behind the murders left behind by the infamous Jack the Ripper, back in 19th century England. By examining clues and observing crime scenes, you can come up with theories and put them to the test, in order to pinpoint the one responsible for the horrible deeds.
Just like always, John Watson is here to help you and also provide you with valuable advice when things get complicated. You get to play as both of them and take advantage of their skills in a variety of situations, depending on the scene in question. Hence, the story is full of twists and turns, since the identity of the killer is almost revealed a couple of times throughout the story and you never know what’s going to happen next.
Another thing that characterizes the series is the fact that you can switch between first and third-person with the click of a button, depending on how you want to approach the environment. In a first-person perspective, everything goes as it normally does in a classic point-and-click adventure game, while in the third person you also get to see the characters moving toward the selected object.
Naturally, it does not really matter how you play it, because the experience is largely the same and you should definitely have a good time hunting for clues. Moreover, the designers did a very good job with the landscapes and the character modeling, because everything looks nice and everyone’s movements are nicely animated to appear as normal and life-like as possible.
Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper does not impress through anything out of the ordinary, but it is good enough not to need too much originality. Hence, if you are a fan of Arthur Conan Doyle’s stories and you want to see Sherlock tackling yet another puzzling mystery, then the game at hand should provide you with what you need and nothing more.
