Visual novels have gained a lot of traction lately, maybe because the tools required to create them have been simplified and made available for public use. Hence, almost everyone can throw one together nowadays, but talent and dedication are still required for something decent to come out on the other end. In this case, both ingredients seem to be present in decent quantities.
Seduce Me 2: The Demon War is a sequel that aims to continue the story from the first game in the series. The story has a different pace this time, but the events are closely tied to what happened in the previous episode. One of the biggest upsides of the game is the fact that you have five different storylines to follow, depending on what choice you make in the beginning.
Speaking of which, the story alternates depending on what incubus you choose to marry. You play the role of Mika Anderson, the girl whose wedding day is rapidly approaching. However, Mika gets transported to Demon World, where a conflict of epic proportions is brewing. Thus, you have to deal with a rebellion and even drag your soon-to-be husband into the war at some point.
The game is more of an interactive story than a classic visual novel, mainly because you have the option to choose how to proceed at certain junctions. This also means that the game can be replayed multiple times to achieve different endings, given the fact that the other characters respond one way or another to your choices. The five incubi also react differently to your demeanor, which is yet another variable that makes the experience highly dynamic.
Finally, the artwork is mighty important in the genre, because you usually have nothing else to do, other than read the text and admire the graphics. Thankfully, all is well in this regard, except for a few minor scenes where the characters seem to be copy pasted onto the background without proper shading. The voice acting is nice as well, and there are some interesting sound effects to go along with it too.
All things considered, Seduce Me 2: The Demon War is a bit too early in the development phase to be judged too harshly. However, everything is more or less spot on so far, at least as long as you are a fan of the genre and you do not mind the occasional nudity.
