Sam and Max 202: Moai Better Blues Demo
After a trip to the North Pole to save Christmas and kill Santa, Sam and Max are transported to an exotic island in the Pacific #Sam and max #Moai Better Blues #Adventure game #Sam #Max #Moai
Sam and Max should be relatively well-known amongst the point-and-click adventure fans, especially those who appreciate a bit of humor every now and again. The two detectives always take on the weirdest cases they can find, although they don’t have to search too much for them. In fact, strange things keep happening around them on a regular basis, so they’re never out of work.
Sam and Max 202: Moai Better Blues is the second episode of the second season and it tells yet another tale of horror involving the two detectives, this time taking place somewhere on a tropical island in the Pacific. However, the setting is not really relevant, because everything else is the same when it comes to gameplay, general atmosphere, and the puzzles you need to solve along the way.
As it happens, Sam and Max were just returning from the North Pole when they see a giant supernatural triangle chasing their friend on the street. One thing leads to another and they somehow find themselves jumping through the portal, only to wake up on a tropical island somewhere. Instead of enjoying the sun and the warm ocean water, they must deal with an ancient prophecy, which is actually a warning about the end of the world.
In case you are not familiar with the series, the gameplay revolves around solving unusual puzzles and trying to understand the case you work on, by conversing with the people who might give you clues. The psychopathic nature of the two detectives is more than obvious in the dialog sequences, but that’s what makes the franchise so unique and beloved by its fans.
The puzzles themselves are not complicated per se, but they do take a bit of figuring out in order to understand what you have to do. There are plenty of hints to help you, on the other hand, as well as an official walkthrough in case you get stuck. Other than that, everything should feel more or less like a regular point-and-click adventure title, as long as you are familiar with the genre.
When it’s all said and done, Sam and Max 202: Moai Better Blues remains faithful to the original formula and it’s about as crazy as you would expect. The humor is all there and there are plenty of brilliant jokes hidden everywhere, not to mention the cheeky dialog between the characters themselves.
