Sabotage Demo
Fight against genetically engineered humans in this futuristic first-person shooter #First-person shooter #Genetic engineering #Futuristic FPS #Saboteur #Genetics #FPS
The future is bound to bring amazing technological progress, especially when it comes to genetics and computers. Hence, it’s not that far fetched to think about how the world would look if the two were combined, with genetically engineered humans taking advantage of increased strength and superior intellectual capabilities, thanks to computers.
Sabotage is a first-person shooter that presents the future in a rather depressing way, with the common people being subjugated by giant corporations that have taken over the world. Not only that, but the leaders of these corporations are genetically engineered for generations in order to become superior to the rest of the humans, which makes them almost unstoppable without the proper motivation.
The story talks about how the government realized that the corporations are getting too powerful and it managed to end the slavery imposed on the population, although that certainly did not make the corporations happy. A war started between the companies and the government, a war that you happen to be a part of.
Even if the background story might sound interesting and original, the actual game is nothing out of the ordinary and it plays out like any other first-person shooter. Hence, you just have to shoot anything that moves and accomplish a few simple objectives along the way, such as to collect various items, or access certain terminals. The AI is not very bright and it shouldn’t pose too much of a threat, especially if you are a veteran of the genre.
From a technical point of view, the game doesn’t really shine either, although it can be observed that the designers put a bit of work into the environments. The levels are usually nicely textured and they feature plenty of detail, as well as some miscellaneous objects to make the landscapes appear more realistic.
In the end, Sabotage is nothing you haven’t seen before, but it does have the potential to keep you playing for a while, if you are interested in first-person shooters. However, if you want a real FPS with a story, strong gameplay, and spotless mechanics, then this is title would not make the list.
