SFG Soccer: Football Fever Demo

Since it is one of the most popular sports in the world, soccer has received more than its fair share of video game simulations, such as the FIFA and the Pro Evolution Soccer franchises. However, there are many more releases out there, not all of which have such a serious take on the matter and actually encourage the players to have some fun, for a change.

SFG Soccer: Football Fever aims to make the sport more enjoyable and relaxed, by making the environment more familiar and the players less serious, given the fact that they have tiny bodies and big heads. On the other hand, some of the depth has been preserved and you can certainly put some of your less demanding tactics into action out on the pitch, as long as you do not intend on using eleven players to realize them.

The wacky player models and the closed, indoors pitch are only some of the modifications, since the entire experience is considerably less intricate and much simpler than you would find it in a serious simulator. The physics are barely taken into consideration and the A.I. is also very basic, especially when it comes to governing your own players on the field while you are not controlling them.

Despite that, the game provides you with some mighty fun alternatives to realism, such as the fact that you can design your own players and put them into custom teams, which can be named according to your own preferences. Not only that, but you can actually come up with a tournament as well and use your team to make history against the already available clubs.

You can also choose to use a gamepad, the keyboard or the mouse to control the players, which can come in handy if you need to accommodate multiple people at the same time. The graphics are nice but not demanding, which means that it can basically on most computers without too many problems, even if they are a few years old.

All things considered, SFG Soccer: Football Fever is no more than a mediocre game, but it can certainly keep you occupied for a while. It does lose its flavor quite quickly though, considering the fact that you can only have two buttons to play around with and the A.I. can give you a lot of headaches.
