A courageous robot must fight against other robots in order to protect humanity and innocent people #Arcade platformer #Action game #Adventure game #Platformer #Action #Arcade
Robots are quite helpful in our day and age, especially since we can use them to take care of difficult and dangerous jobs, such as assembling machinery, mining and various other such activities. However, the latest AI advancements offer a glimpse into a future where robots might be just as intelligent as human beings, or even more so if they are allowed to learn by themselves.
Ro_bit is an action-platformer in the style of Metroid and Castlevania in which you play the role of a robot trying to survive in a dangerous world. Most of your time is spent shooting things, solving puzzles and exploring the levels, which means that the game is not as linear as most platformers. On the other hand, it’s still a pretty simple concept, especially when it comes to gameplay.
The story is not very complex either, but it doesn’t need to be in order to provide you with a good time. As such, it all starts with the creation of Ro_bit, which is actually a robot designed and built in order to defend humans from harm. However, trouble starts right as the robot comes off the assembly line, because it would seem like someone is attacking the facility.
Ro_bit has a few skills that can come in handy over the course of the game, although nothing out of the ordinary. As such, it can jump, activate buttons and shoot its gun, which in turn allows it to overcome a variety of obstacles. Naturally, there are many enemies to defeat along the way, each one of which has specific strengths and weaknesses. Thankfully, the difficulty level is adjustable, and there are plenty of checkpoints as well.
Speaking of which, the level design is pretty interesting, especially since you are usually required to turn around and find keys to unlock adjacent paths. It’s not exactly an open world situation, but it’s nice to know that you won’t be going forward for the entire duration of the game. Moreover, the graphics are pretty neat as well, especially if you enjoy the retro style.
In the end, Ro_bit can turn out to be a fan favorite if some of the mistakes are fixed and more content is added. Hence, action-platformer fans should feel right at home in it, even if it’s not 100% complete yet.
