Reality Incognita Demo
Explore a space ship and figure out what happened to her and why she woke up in a cryogenics lab #Adventure game #Point and click #Puzzle game #Adventure #Puzzle #Solve
Being in space is not something most people can relate to, at least not at the moment. However, we certainly have a lot of books and movies on the subject of spaceships and aliens, not to mention video games. Hence, it’s always great to pretend like you are far away from Earth, especially when weird technology enters the picture and you get to see it in action.
Reality Incognita is a point & click adventure game in which you play the role of a woman who wakes up in a strange setting. In fact, she wakes up in some kind of cryo pod, which means that she must have been out for quite some time. As for the actual game, it’s a regular point & click with the same mechanics we all know and love, although maybe some new ideas would have been appreciated in this case.
In order to interact with the environment or with various objects around the rooms you visit, you have to select the proper action from the interface, such as use, inspect or open/close. This takes a while to get used to, especially when you have to handle multiple items at once. It’s not a huge issue, but it kind of slows things down too much, even for a puzzle game.
Speaking of which, the actual puzzles are fairly simple from a conceptual point of view, but it takes a fair amount of time to figure out what you actually have to do. You can combine objects or simply activate them, but since setting is rather weird it’s not always clear what you should be doing. This is normal in a puzzle game, but it can also be frustrating sometimes.
As for the environments and the graphics quality, you shouldn’t expect an awful lot in this regard, mainly because the level of detail is pretty poor. Most rooms only feature a handful of objects, and the texture resolution is quite poor as well. On the other hand, this doesn’t matter that much in this case, especially if you manage to concentrate on the gameplay and just see the adventure behind the simple visuals.
In the end, Reality Incognita is not at all a bad bad, but it has some flaws that might irritate people more than enough to make them stop playing. Hence, the somewhat boring puzzles and simple graphics can be a bit of a letdown, but the game is certainly worth a shot to make up your mind.
