RC Boat Challenge Demo

Racing games are all about speed, which technically means that it does not really matter the nature of the vehicles involved, as long as they go fast. To set itself apart from the rest of the racing games out on the market, RC Boat Challenge provides you with the opportunity to take part in speed boat races, rather than get behind the wheel of a sports car.

To be more precise, the game features RC boats, rather than full-sized ones, but that doesn't mean they are any slower or less dangerous. Hence, by taking advantage of their reduced sized, sensitive steering and hydrodynamic design, they are quite capable of giving you motion sickness, especially after you win a few championships and unlock the truly powerful models.

To begin with, however, you have to deal with slightly less capable boats, which have much lower top speeds and laughable acceleration, when compared to the top shelf models. Gladly, the other competitors do not have access to them either, which mean that the races are balanced and only your ability to steer properly can affect the final results of the tournaments you participate in.

Since the boats are very small and they do not cause a lot of disturbance on the water, they can safely navigate even the smallest rivers, in order to avoid the full-sized ships and make it easier for you to stay on track. The game provides you with a variety of exotic locations for you to enjoy, such as jungle environments, or slightly more urban settings in the middle of the city.

Speaking of environments, the graphic engine does a good job at portraying the surrounding areas and the boats themselves, but it doesn't really handle the water too well, especially when it comes to reflections. There barely are any waves, which makes for very dull races, especially when you happen to be ahead and there's no one to overtake anymore.

Despite the minor inconveniences, RC Boat Challenge can be very entertaining for a while, at least until you get familiar with all the boats and the tracks. However, there are a few other race modes you can try out, which should lengthen the experience a bit and give you more to play.
