Porcupines are generally cute and harmless, but when you put them into an arena, and tell them to fight, things get deadly serious really fast. In Porcunipine you and your friends can battle each other by controlling some elite porcupine that are fitted with just one, large, spike.

The game is about tiny porcupines, or rather tiny unicorn porcupines, that fight to the death by shooting their only spikes at each other. You don’t really need to say anything else to make it instantly interesting.

Porcunipine rocks some pretty good retro graphics that make it appealing for those who want something that’s really close to the arcade style. The characters you choose from are different in design but equally cute and deadly and can shoot their spikes with great precision.

You get to select from game modes such as ‘Survival’, ‘Arena’ and ‘Last Man Standing’ that can be played in single player vs. AI bots or against friends using controllers. Porcunipine supports up to four players in a round and can offer some pretty intense battles.

Each game mode has its winning conditions that are pretty straight forward, get the biggest score or kill everyone else. Controls are simple, gameplay is smooth and everything about Porcunipine just seems to work in its favor.

The spikes you shoot can ricochet off the arena walls or other objects that are placed inside the warzone, the crowd around reacts whenever a pro kill is made and there are skulls to collect as trophies. The latter is a bit creepy for a game that looks really cute from top to bottom but then again these are not your everyday porcupines, they mean business.

Porcunipine is a game that’s rather perfect for days when you want to kickback with some friends and melt controllers in really fast-paced arena fights. It’s simple, clean and definitely fun.
