Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End Demo
Play as the famous Jack Sparrow and tackle a wide variety of dangerous missions all across the seven seas #Pirates of the Caribbean #At Worlds End #Jack Sparrow #Pirate #Caribbean #World
Pirates may have been portrayed as handsome and lovable characters by Hollywood, but there's little chance you would come to the same conclusion if you got to spend time on an actual pirate ship. However, there's no denying that the deeds of Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean are both amusing and legendary at the same time, which begs the question of what it would be like if you got to be Jack for a few hours.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is a third-person action-adventure game that depicts the events from the movie with the same name, as well as a few scenes from Dead Man's Chest, the previous episode. This way, you can get a first-hand impression of what it would be like to be Jack Sparrow himself and work with his well-known associates, such as Eliza and Crispin.
As far as the plot is concerned, the storyline is mainly borrowed from the movie, with the evil East India Trading Company trying to eradicate the pirates from all over world. Naturally, this does not sit well with Jack and the crew of Black Pearl, although the other ships are not too happy either. Over the course of the story, you get to fight against famous villains from the movie, as well as explore the Flying Dutchmen, Shipwreck Cove, or Port Royal.
Since this is a game intended to feed on the glory of the movie, you should not expect any kind of revolutions or attempts at originality from the developers. Hence, the mechanics are functional and intuitive, but they are very plain an unimpressive at the same time. Moreover, the fighting sequences usually get very repetitive and annoying, especially since the characters only have a handful of available attacks and combos, which get old in about half an hour.
Technically, the graphics did receive a bit of care, but they are still very sketchy and sloppy, especially when it comes to level design and the objects spread around the environment. Fortunately, the characters themselves are quite nicely modeled, in order to portray the actors who inspire life into them on the silver screen. On the other hand, these actors have not lent their voices for this game as well, which means that you won't get the authentic accents and dialogue from them.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is not exactly a bad game, but it fails to do anything special with the multitude of interesting elements it had at its disposal, not to mention the intriguing characters and the wide variety of great environments. In the end, all that came out is a sketchy portrayal of the movie, with boring sword fights and unimpressive cutscenes.
