Operation KREEP Demo
Challenge your friends to a survival race in space and see whether you can overcome the alien infestation #Co-op multiplayer #Alien fight #Arcade game #Co-op #Multiplayer #Alien
Hot seat multiplayer was quite popular back in the day, even if players had to share the same keyboard. The concept is still very much alive on consoles, but PC games rarely feature this option anymore. On the other hand, it’s very easy to connect controllers to computers as well, which should allow people to enjoy themselves just as much as they would on a console.
Operation KREEP is a 2D top-down game in which the main goal is to survive and fight against an alien infestation that spreads like wildfire. Up to four players can share the same screen and combine their forces to neutralize the threat, although it is also possible for the players to skirmish with each other. In short, it all depends on whether you are concerned about surviving the infestation or you just want to make life difficult for your friends.
The creep spreads bit by bit throughout the level, and it is your duty to stop it from overwhelming you. In order to destroy it, the players have to use their ammunition against the creep patches and remove all of them. If you are standing in front of the infection while it spreads, your character gets crushed, although you can easily respawn back after that.
In case doing the same thing over and over again becomes boring after a while, you have the option to include a few interesting rules at the start of the game. As such, it is possible to exchange the default weapon for a rocket launcher, which is much more powerful, but also a lot more dangerous to wield safely. The matches get a lot more hilarious this way, and it also helps deal with the creep much faster.
As mentioned before, the visual design is inspired by old video games, with 2D environments and pixelated characters. Still, each level is unique and quite well designed, not to mention overly colorful. The game supports up to four controllers, one for each player joining a match. This way, you can avoid having to share a keyboard and pressing too many keys at once.
All things considered, Operation KREEP can be very entertaining in the right circumstances, especially since the difficulty level is quite punishing, and there are many ways you can approach the gameplay. Thus, whether you play with or against your buddies, you can squeeze many hours from the game.
