Onimusha 3: Demon Siege Demo
A third-person hack and slash game that involves a rich story about samurais, demons and even time travel #Demon siege #Samurai fight #Samurai magic #Daemon #Siege #Onimusha
Onimusha is a hack and slash franchise that made quite the name for itself on the PlayStation gaming console, thanks to the refined combat system, intriguing story and plenty of action to go around for everybody. Now, for the first time ever, the third title in the series was released on PC as well, in order to give the community a chance to enjoy the game as well.
Onimusha 3: Demon Siege is a hack and slash title that blends a variety of elements into the same package, including samurai fights, powerful demons from other dimensions and even time travel, in order to bring a worthy conclusion to the entire saga. Hence, you should be prepared to get familiar with a lot of unusual concepts, in order to properly enjoy the game at full potential.
As far as the plot is concerned, it all revolves around two fighters that continuously battle hordes of demons called Genma, using powerful weapons and exquisite techniques to do so. Thus, you get to play as either Samanosuke, a Japanese samurai trained in the art of war, or Jacques, who's a French officer stuck back in time, fighting the monstrosities somewhere in ancient Japan.
Because the game was originally a PlayStation title, it should come as no surprise that this release is actually a port, which means that the developers needed to redo parts of the code in order to be compatible with the PC hardware. However, they certainly gave up halfway through, because everything runs very poorly and there are countless problems plaguing the gameplay and the game itself, including the bad graphics quality and the annoying control scheme.
The latter actually makes it very difficult for anyone to enjoy the title, because you are never given any details about which key is which on the keyboard, nor are you allowed to customize them as you see fit. However, things are not that much better with a controller either, whether due to compatibility problems, or the fact that the button positioning is awkward on them as well, for some reason.
In the end, there are barely any reasons to give the game a try, unless you are absolutely certain that you can overlook a bunch of severe gameplay flaws. Hence, Onimusha 3: Demon Siege does not rise to the expectations at all and it is mainly aimed toward nostalgia-struck players that would not think twice about spending money on it, only to be disappointed soon after.
