No Man's Land Demo
Conquer the New World in this historically-accurate real-time strategy game, featuring six different factions #New World #Real-time strategy #Strategy game #RTS #Strategy #America
Although America managed to remain hidden from Europe for quite a long time, things escalated pretty quickly once the great empires made their way to the New World. Colonies soon sprung all over the continent, while the native population started to rebel against the invaders that desecrated their land. Naturally, a war erupted between the two factions, although the natives never stood a chance against gun powder.
No Man's Land is a real-time strategy game that takes place during the colonization Era, which means that you get to witness the great empires of the time fight over who gets to spread their culture and territory into the newly discovered continent. Hence, you get to choose between six available factions, including the British Empire, the Spaniards, and two different native tribes.
As far as the story is concerned, there are three campaigns you can play through, depending on which faction you happen to choose. While one of them takes place during the American Revolution War, which is a lot more current, the other two focus on the Spaniards fighting the British forces and the natives, as well as on the natives themselves fighting back against the invaders.
When you get down to playing it, you might realize that there’s nothing special about the gameplay and it basically follows the same rules as every other classic RTS out there. This is not necessarily a bad thing, especially since they work flawlessly in this case, but a little originality can go a long way to make the experience memorable, or at least a bit more fun.
Thankfully, the graphics engine is more than decent and it can handle a lot of units on the screen at the same time, not to mention a variety of different building designs and environments. The units also change along with the era you happen to play through, which brings a bit of diversity to the gameplay. The soundtrack is decent as well, although chances are you won’t even notice it is there.
In the end, No Man's Land deserves recognition for being one of the few real-time strategies games that are not fantasy-based, nor do they take place during the second World War. On the other hand, the gameplay is nothing special either, especially if you are a fan of the genre and you have seen your share of games until now.
