Nexus: The Jupiter Incident Updated Single-Player Demo
Be in charge of an entire spaceship fleet and command each unit in order to achieve victory in war between races #Nexus demo #The Jupiter Incident #Tactical Fleet Simulator #Nexus #Jupiter #Incident
As science fiction movies and TV shows constantly try to show you, being the commander of a space fleet is not an easy task, especially if there’s a war going on. When it comes to video games, however, there are very few examples of titles that accurately depict the situation, since you are never in control of an entire fleet, nor able to put intricate tactics into practice.
Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is a tactical strategy game set in space, in which you get to be in charge over multiple spaceships at the same time and use their unique abilities to overpower the enemies. In fact, the developers have decided to create their own specific genre to better describe the game, which is ‘Tactical Fleet Simulator’.
The story going on behind the battles talks about a somewhat near future, namely at the beginning of the 22nd century. While the solar system has been occupied by corporations in search of resources and financial gains, the human race is preparing to send their first colony ship out to explore the galaxy. Naturally, everything goes terribly wrong and you are stuck trying to save the entire galaxy from perdition.
What really impresses about the game is the fact that it takes no prisoners when it comes to tactical depth and the degree of freedom you are offered. Hence, almost everything is within reach as long as you can think about it, which means that the battles are that much more exciting and open to a lot of possibilities. On the other hand, all of this comes at a price, since the interface is pretty intimidating and it takes a while to get used to it.
The graphics engine is yet another masterpiece, especially when it comes to the views you get to admire along the way. The game also features some of the greatest explosions and laser effects ever depicted in video games, which does wonders for the atmosphere. Unfortunately, not the same can be said about the soundtrack, since it is rather dull and unoriginal in most parts.
All things considered, Nexus: The Jupiter Incident is the kind of game that lives on in history as one of the best in the genre, thanks to the massive amount of work and innovation that went into it. Hence, if you consider yourself a fan of space, science fiction, and spaceships, this is definitely a title to have in your library.
