New World Order Demo
A first-person shooter in which you get to fight against terrorists and try to dismantle their operations #Team-based FPS #Tactical shooter #First-person Shooter #World #Order #Tactical
Counter-Strike is one of the most successful mods out there, given the fact that it gathered millions of players and it spawned a franchise of its own. Many have tried to emulate its success and enjoy the same amount of popularity, but no one really came close. However, you can always give the contenders a try and see what they got wrong, in case you want to feel even more grateful to Counter-Strike.
New World Order aims to take things to the next level and implement the same mechanics as the aforementioned title, but also improve on them and make the gameplay a bit more tactical. Albeit a commendable and honorable attempt, the developers did not quite manage to get there, since a lot of things went wrong along the way and the end result does not resemble anything you would want to play for too long.
As far as the singleplayer mode is concerned, the story is basically more of an idea than an actual concise plotline. Hence, it would appear that the terrorists are attempting to destroy a variety of important landmarks around the world, which means that a specialized team needs to be sent to stop them from achieving their goals.
Naturally, the singleplayer does not shine at all, but that should not be too much of a problem, at least if you imagine that the developers put all the effort into the multiplayer instead. However, once you load a server and try it out, it becomes quite clear that it didn’t go that way and everything is the same, even worse, if you consider the fact that even the maps are very small and unimpressive.
You can stumble into a variety of bugs, annoyances and errors that make the gameplay incredible difficult to swallow, not to mention the fact that there aren’t any people to play with anyway. The weapon arsenal is big enough and there are plenty of recognizable models to try out, but they are really difficult to use properly, not to mention the fact that you cannot pick them up from the fallen enemies.
In the end, No World Order tried a bit too hard to come up with improvements over the original Counter-Strike too formula and managed to break everything in the process. Thus, there are very few reasons one could give the game a try, especially since are far better alternatives out there.
