Neofeud Demo
Experience a chaotic and technology-driven world in the role of a social worker in this point & click adventure game #Point & click #Adventure game #Puzzle game #Adventure #Puzzle #Solve
It’s not too much of a stretch to imagine a future where man has fused with technology almost completely, or one where artificial intelligence controls almost everything but our minds. We have already started to integrate technology more and more in our lives, even if we don’t have robotic arms or legs yet like in the Terminator series. Hence, there are many movies and video games on the subject as well.
Neofeud is a mighty interesting adventure game with point & click mechanics and a unique world for you to explore over the course of a convoluted story. The whole thing is oozing with crazy concepts regard AI, human augmentation and a totalitarian government, so it should be quite the ride from start to finish. However, the gameplay mechanics can be a tad too stressful sometimes.
To begin with, you play the role of a disgraced cop who is now working as a social worker in a part of the world called The Pile, which is where discarded or malfunctioning androids are sent. Speaking of which, in this universe the idea of AI did not work quite as planned, because many of the resulting individuals were actually criminals, malfunctioning, or just plain useless. The main character’s job is to keep a watch over the population and enforce various sanctions.
The interface and the controls are entirely mouse-based, which means that you can play the game using only one hand. However, shuffling through the available commands can be a tad slow and annoying, not to mention the fact that the movement is incredibly slow for some reason. Sometimes only part of the scene is visible, which makes it difficult to get to the next area without performing two separate actions.
Lastly, the artwork is definitely worthy of a mention, because a lot of creativity was involved in the process. You can tell that the graphics were pretty important for the overall atmosphere of the game, even if they are not particularly beautiful in terms of colors. They are also fairly basic when it comes to the technology used to render them, but that doesn’t really matter anyway.
On a closing note, Neofeud is definitely a must-try if you enjoy point & click games, and even more so if you are a fan of weird stories. However, you also have to make do with a pretty awkward interface, which might take its toll on your mood.
