Narvas 13 Demo

Space is undoubtedly big, which is why we haven’t managed to get to far yet with our current technology. However, it’s quite probable that we’ll develop a method to travel across these huge distances sometime in the future, which is when the real space exploration is going to begin. Until then, were are stuck trying to reach the few planets in our solar system.

Narvas 13 is an adventure/RPG in which you play the role of an engineer trying to find spaceship pieces and various other supplies around the galaxy. Obviously, there are all sorts of enemies and obstacles trying to stop him from accomplishing his task. In essence, it’s not a very complex game, but if you love sci-fi flicks and you don’t have high expectations, this could certainly keep you busy for a while.

There’s not much else to tell about the story, which is kind of a bummer in a role-playing game. Your character’s name is Mace Carter and he is a circuitry engineer, which means that he is able to deal with most types of electronic devices. You can communicate with a few other characters along the way, but the dialog is kept pretty short, and there are a lot of grammar mistakes and typos.

The limited content delivered with the demo version might have something to do with it, but the overall experience feels very claustrophobic. Each room is small and pretty much linear, except for the few occasions when there is more than one way out. Other than that, you are stuck walking from one end of the corridor to the other, which is not what you want in an RPG at all.

On top of that, the graphics are sub-par as well, even for a retro game. This wouldn’t normally present a problem, given the fact that you should be distracted by the story and the action, but that’s not the case here. There’s no sound to talk about yet, since it wasn’t implemented in the demo version, but many other things need to be fixed before that becomes an issue anyway.

In the end, Narvas 13 might yet turn into a decent game, but it requires much more effort in almost every area. Thus, starting from the story and the gameplay, all the way to graphics and sound, everything needs to be improved and refined.
