Nancy Drew Dossier: Resorting to Danger is a point-and-click adventure game that follows a pretty simple, yet intriguing story, revolving around a series of fake bomb threats and the panic they cause among the targets. Thus, over the course of the game, you get to the bottom of the mystery and find out the ones responsible for the deed, in order to bring him or her to justice.

Naturally, the clues are not just laying around for you to find, but they must be figured out instead. This can be achieved by either examining the scenes of the attacks, or by talking to various witnesses and suspects, in order to get information from them. In the end, by putting all the pieces together, Nancy manages to pinpoint the guilty person and solve the case.

In case you are not too familiar with the genre, the point-and-click mechanics are about as simple as they can get, since all you have to do is to click on certain objects and either examine them closer, or use them in other purposes, by combining them with other clues you find. This way, everything you find can be of use at some point, so you should always keep everything in your inventory.

Graphically speaking, the game looks quite smooth, especially since a lot of the scenery and background graphics are drawn by hand, which serves to improve the overall atmosphere and give the title a more artsy look. On the other hand, there are no 3D models and you cannot move around the scenes, which can be a bit of a bother in some cases.

Nancy Drew Dossier: Resorting to Danger may not revolutionize the genre, but it certainly keeps you wanting for more as you descend deeper and deeper into the mystery. Moreover, the fact that the action does not take place in real time means that you can take as long as you wish to examine the evidence and come to a conclusion.
