NASCAR '14 is a game that is best appreciated by the fans of the sport and part of the reason for this is that some don’t particularly find it enjoyable to keep making a left turn over and over again. Although, what makes NASCAR '14 a challenging racing simulator has very little to do with the fact that you run in a circle, it’s the fact that you constantly have to be aware of where your adversaries are and that you have to perfectly time the moments you want to overtake them.

Car control is questionable at times but that entirely depends on how you’re used to driving in a simulator and also, you should be aware that car handling in NASCAR style games are different to begin with. To help you deal with this possible issue, the game offers a tuning feature that allows you to apply all kinds of performance modifications to the cars.

In NASCAR '14, the crowd always reacts to whatever you do on the track. If you hit a wall they will hold their breath, overtake a group of cars and they will cheer like crazy. It’s a small feature to observe but nonetheless one that takes you a bit closer to the real racing atmosphere.

A thing you always expect from a NASCAR game are the crashes. Everyone that has watched at least one race knows that a little bump to the rear of a car can spell disaster for everyone else. You have that in NASCAR '14 and you do get a bit of a rush whenever you manage to avoid between crashed or crashing cars.

A letdown on the other hand is the fact that even though you see cars flying in a crash, parts of them seem to never fall off. NASCAR '14 could use better crash physics, more realism to how easily cars get dented.

To sum things up, NASCAR '14 is by all means a good game for fans. It does have its shortcomings but it also manages to deliver a thrilling experience and big challenges to overcome.
