Myths of the World: The Black Sun is a hidden object adventure game with classic gameplay mechanics and a straightforward story, that challenges you to overcome a variety of puzzles and interesting situations. There are no original elements in terms of gameplay, but the overall experience is fairly enjoyable and quite fun, especially if you like fantasy scenarios.

Speaking of which, the whole story starts with the main character going to investigate his friend’s disappearance. However, things get a lot worse once your own father is turned into stone, and you must do everything in your power to get him back before it’s too late. Obviously, some kind of beast is behind all of this, so it’s your duty to track it down and defeat it.

As mentioned before, there are no unique qualities in terms of gameplay, so you tackle the same kind of puzzles and riddles as in most of the other HOPAs out there. Granted, they are very polished and nicely integrated into the environment, even if some of them feel rather forced. There’s quite a bit of challenge involved too, so you probably won’t get bored along the way.

The graphics are fairly decent too, depending on your experience in the genre. There are much better-looking games out there, that’s for sure, but Myths of the World: The Black Sun is not bad either. Hence, each scene is very detailed and nicely designed to be as cozy as possible, and you can tell that the artists put quite some work into the cutscenes as well.

In the end, Myths of the World: The Black Sun is obviously not a revolutionary game, but it has what it takes to keep your mind busy for a while. There are more than enough puzzles to give your brain a workout.
