However, the subject can make for great movie and video game plots, especially since paranormal events are much more exciting when they are thought up by people. Hence, you can have a lot of fun chasing for spirits or various types of monsters.

Mystery Tales: The House of Others is a hidden object adventure game in which you play the role of someone who must travel to different dimensions in order to save your brother. The game does not feature any groundbreaking gameplay mechanics or anything of the sort, but the experience as a whole can be quite exciting if you are a fan of the genre and you do not mind simple puzzles.

The main character’s brother is a host of a ghost hunting reality show, but it would appear that his safety is in danger. Thus, you must find a way to prevent his death by traveling to the astral plane and dealing with a variety of dangers. You also get to explore a serial killer’s haunted mansion while you are at it, which is obviously a pretty challenging adventure.

As it is customary with HOPAs, your job is to investigate every scene as closely as possible, which means that you have to pick up the items that appear to be useful. On the other hand, only useful items can be picked up, so it’s not much of a struggle to find the right ones. Even so, some of the riddles require quite a bit of tinkering before you are able to figure them out.

The puzzles are fairly straightforward in terms of mechanics, which means that you have to stumble onto the right pattern and apply it until you unlock the container or open the door. The graphics are very impressive in terms of artwork and level design, but since there are no 3D environments to explore, they can fall a bit flat most of the time.

When it’s all said and done, Mystery Tales: The House of Others is far from original or riveting in terms of gameplay mechanics, but it can be quite the adventure.
