Mystery Case Files: Key to Ravenhearst
Find the key to Ravenhearst at the request of the Queen in this point-and-click adventure game #Mystery Case Files #Puzzle game #Adventure game #Puzzle #Adventure #Mystery
The thrill of mystery is enough to get most people excited about adventure, which is why video games that feature secrets are so popular with the crowds. It’s always entertaining to be hunting for the solution to a big secret, especially when you get to the answers one step at a time. On the other hand, this seems to work only in certain circumstances, and the story must be pretty good as well.
Mystery Case Files: Key to Ravenhearst is another episode in the popular Mystery Case Files series, and it revolves around the mystical city of Ravenhearst yet again. However, most of your time is going to be spent trying to unravel a variety of riddles and puzzles, while the actual plot is usually conveyed using cutscenes and short dialog sequences. The excitement is still present, on the other hand, especially if you enjoyed the previous episodes.
The plot puts the city of Ravenhearst in focus one more time, with the general idea being that it is about to be resurrected by someone or something evil. The Queen of England herself calls upon you to deal with the case and stop the resurrection from happening, although you do not get to interact with her very much. Still, it’s a pretty exciting story, at least if you are interested in this kind of fiction.
As it is customary for most games in the genre, your main task is to hunt for useful objects and examine them in order to see whether they are of any help to you. Obviously, you can only pick up the useful items, so it’s not much of a gamble in this regard. Each object can be used to solve a particular puzzle, but some can come in handy multiple times in a row.
Some of the required objects have to be obtained by combining multiple items together, although creativity has nothing to do with it. Thanks to the detailed artwork used to render the environment and everything that’s part of the landscape, it should be fairly easy to figure out which items can be combined. Creepy but calming music plays in the background at all time.
In the end, Mystery Case Files: Key to Ravenhearst should be as entertaining as you expect it to be, at least if you are familiar with the series. There’s nothing too incredible about the story or the puzzles, but the general atmosphere and the gameplay blend well enough to make the experience worth the effort.
