Monochroma

Monochroma is a puzzle platformer game with exploration elements where you will have to travel to a strange world filled with intricate machines.

The game begins without any story at all. Take on the role of a little boy with a red scarf that sees a smaller boy running away with a kite. Following on his footsteps, you finally manage to catch up with him and that's the moment when the roof collapses. You find yourself inside a farm like facility, but the worst thing is that the little boy, your brother, has injured his leg.

Advancing through this strange world on yourself is difficult enough, but now you will have to carry your brother which limits your movements. Along the way you'll be able to uncover more and more story elements.

Besides taking care of your brother and carrying him on over some difficult obstacles, you cannot place him down where there is no light, as he's afraid of the dark. This is quite tricky as sometimes you need to jump higher and there is no place to leave him alone.

Pushing cards, empty or flaming barrels, switches and lots of other contraptions will be required in order to make your way further. Don't be fooled by this monochromatic world, danger lurks at your every step and both brother are in constant danger from falling into bottomless pits, drowning, death by a giant saw blade, etc.

The difficulty of the game is fixed, but the puzzles with get harder and harder as you advance. The graphics might seem simple to some, yet the black, white and gray movie-like visuals that receive a touch of color here and there are perfect to set the game's mood.
