Mob Ties Tokyo Demo
Battle mobsters in the streets of Japan in this action-packed first-person shooter #Mob Ties #First-person shooter #Gang war #Mob #Shooter #FPS
Japan may be one of the most civilized and technologically-advanced nations on the globe, but that doesn’t mean it’s free of crime and corruption. Gangs and ruthless mobsters are still part of the landscape, even if their methods and end-goals have changed in the mean time. Money and power are powerful motivators, which is why it can be difficult to completely eliminate crime syndicates.
Mob Ties Tokyo tries to provide you with a bit of insight into a make-believe representation of the Japanese crime underbelly, by allowing you to descend into the chaotic world of the mafia. Being a first-person shooter, the experience should be quite personal and memorable, although the game itself is rather weak-hinged and it may not serve as adequate material to be stored in one’s memory cabinets.
The story talks about a professional hit man with quite the legend behind him and a solid reputation when it comes to getting rid of problems, who is called into action by a mob boss trying to go legit. The role of the assassin is played by you, which means that you have to tackle endless hordes of vicious thugs and take each one of them out, in order to assure your boss’ ascent to a clean business model. It doesn’t make sense, but it barely affects the gameplay anyway.
Speaking of which, the game is definitely not revolution material when it comes to first-person shooters, since it even lacks some of the elements one might find in any other mediocre title out there. The mechanics are rushed and unpolished, not to mention pointlessly repetitive at times. As an example, a revolver shot will send the enemy to the floor, but not kill him, which means that you have to wait for him to get up and do it again. After a while, it gets incredibly frustrating and annoying.
The enemies continuously try to run through walls and ignore your presence, unless you are facing them from the right angle. On the other hand, the foes do sometimes manage to pass through walls, although that’s just one in a pretty hefty list of bugs you can have the pleasure of stumbling into along the way. The graphics engine is not something to stand in awe of either, although it could have been worse, considering the rest of the game.
All things considered, Mob Ties Tokyo comes pretty close to the classic model of a shoot-and-miss FPS, with barely anything to its name to be worth your time. It could have worked in a way, if the shooting itself wasn’t so monotonous and painfully repetitive, but everything falls apart once the A.I. makes an appearance anyway.
