Moai V: New Generation Collector's Edition
Use magic and hard work to protect your island from evil in this exciting time management game #Time management #Puzzle game #Strategy game #Strategy #Puzzle #Adventure
It’s difficult to innovate a simple genre such as time management, especially if you also want to keep the fans close with familiar mechanics and a simple difficulty curve. As such, most franchises prefer to feature a new story and interesting objectives instead of new mechanics, which is not a bad thing at all. In fact, it’s a sure way to cater to a loyal fan base and make sure everyone feels welcome.
Moai V: New Generation is the fifth entry in the Moai franchise, and it features a new set of challenges to overcome, as well as a riveting story. However, those who enjoyed the previous episode should feel right at home from the first minutes of gameplay, given the fact that not much has changed in this regard. New players have an easy time learning the basics and beating the levels.
In this iteration, the whole thing revolves around two twins named Hika-Ri and Kao-Ri, who decide to go on an adventure on their separate ways. They both have to overcome a variety of obstacles, and magic is their main ability, which means that the journey is going to be extremely exciting. Thus, you get to travel to a variety of interesting places and have fun tackling all sorts of objectives.
The magic aspect is actually quite neatly integrated, given the fact that you can take matters into your own hands and use the mouse to draw elemental signs on the screen in order to cast spells. As far as the actual gameplay is concerned, the goal is to use your workers to remove obstacles around the map, restore buildings, as well as interact with a variety of other objects to complete the missions.
The interface is about as helpful as it can get, given the fact that everything can be achieved using your mouse alone. Even if the isometric perspective can feel a bit outdated nowadays, the developers have done a marvelous job in the graphics department, given the fact that every map is incredibly detailed and enjoyable. The soundtrack is in tune with the atmosphere as well, and the cutscene artwork is not bad either.
Even if Moai V: New Generation does not reinvent the wheel in terms of gameplay mechanics, the story is worth a playthrough, and the difficulty level climbs significantly as you get closer to the end. Hence, it should be tons of fun for the lovers of time management flicks.
