Mario Adventure Final Demo
A 3D representation of the Mario universe, in which you get to explore a variety of environments and search for coins #Mario adventure #Mario & luigi #3D mario #Mario #Adventure #3D
Mario is probably the most recognizable video game character out there, since he has been around ever since the first console generations and he went through many changes throughout the years. However, the basic mechanics have not been altered all that much, since he is still trying to collect coins, save the princess and defeat the evil dragon that imprisoned her.
Mario Adventure Final attempts to provide you with the same atmosphere and a reasonable amount of fun, by transposing the Mario universe into three dimensions. Naturally, this is not the first time this happens, since the original developers themselves at Nintendo have already achieved this a few decades ago. On the other hand, this game certainly tries something rather new, in the sense that it offers you complete freedom when it comes to choosing your path through the levels.
In essence, the purpose is largely the same, since you have to collect coins, various types of fruits and avoid being killed by nasty creatures. However, these coins can be used to unlock certain portals spread throughout the land, which can take you to different islands, where more coins and bonuses can be found. The design flaws become obvious quite quickly, on the other hand, especially when it comes to gameplay and the general attention to detail.
The first thing that might bug you is the fact that the worlds are not only small, but they also lack detail and taste, given the fact that you cannot find anything on them, other than a few scattered trees and the aforementioned coins. The enemies are usually in extremely low numbers and they are very slow, which means that they should not pose any kind of threat to you. Portals are a nice idea, but since they don't take you to more exciting places, they are pretty useless in the end.
Gameplay-wise, it is worth mentioning that Mario is able to run faster than your eyes can keep up with, which makes the small size of the islands even more obvious. If you hold the sprint button down for ten seconds you can easily go from one end of the world to the other, without running into anything on the way there. You can jump over hills, trees and basically everything else, which takes the challenge out of it. Moreover, you can also run on the water around the island, in case you weren't disappointed enough.
In the end, Mario Adventure Final might be just a fan project with little to no budget, but there are certainly better experiments out there, especially since there are a lot of free tools that yield much more professional results. Thus, the mess at hand does not really have too much of an excuse; there is no story, no challenge and nothing worthy of exploration.
