Obviously, the story does not make too much sense, but then again this is a casual production with a focus on gameplay instead of characters or the plot itself.

Your most pressing annoyance is that you have to complete a variety of objectives before the time runs out, which is not always an easy task. In fact, you really need to move quickly to get the required rating at the end of each level. However, it’s also possible to play in the relaxed mode and forget all about time limits, which in turn allows you to enjoy the story and move at your own pace.

The currency you earn can be used to purchase more equipment for your studio, which in turn makes your life easier. Over the course of the story you get to change scenery a couple of times, given the fact that your company grows and required more space. Hence, you’ll be able to hire A-list stars for your movies toward the end, so it certainly feels like you accomplish something.

In the end, Make it Big in Hollywood is a bit too simple and too repetitive sometimes, but the Hollywood spin should keep you busy for longer than usual. Even so, the mechanics are nothing out of the ordinary, so it’s obviously going to get boring after a while.
