Majestic Nights Demo
An action game set in the 1980s that thrusts the players into a world of conspiracies #Action game #Adventure game #US conspiracies #Action #MK ultra #Adventure
Majestic Nights is an isometric action adventure game that takes the players back in the 1980’ when conspiracies about MK Ultra and the Roswell incident were all the rage.
The adventure genre is broad enough to accommodate games like Majestic Nights, even if you get to kill a lot of people during its storyline. Since most of the game you’ll spend your time talking with people, usually about some conspiracy, you can almost think of this title as a point and click adventure, but that’s a little bit of a stretch.
The conspiracies that usually involve the assassination of Kenedy, the Roswell incident, the Moon landing, UFOs, and so on are still pretty popular, despite being debunked numerous times. Majestic Nights treats all of these conspiracies as they were true, from the perspective of a former CIA agent, who seems to know a lot more than he lets on.
Players will take on the role Cardholder, a former CIA agent who seems to have been responsible or even present during events in history that ended up as “government conspiracies.” The game keeps the players guessing on the past of the main character, and you can always suspect that all of the action happens only in his head because he’s drugged out if this mind.
New users will probably be a little bit disappointed when they will realize that it’s not actually a point and click adventure. The character only moves with the WASD keys and intersects with the environment with the E key. When Cardholder acquires a gun, the mouse becomes functional, and you can also aim with, and not just select dialogues.
The game features some solid writing, even if it goes off the railing sometimes, but it’s nice that there are branching dialogues, adding some depth to it. In the graphics departments, things are a little bit underwhelming. The game doesn’t look great, even if the developer tried to cover it up with some cell shading. The animations are clumsy made, and the backgrounds are not really high quality.
Majestic Nights is an episodic release, which means that more adventures are coming.
