Pirate's Treasure Demo
Hunt for treasure in this colorful Breakout game featuring plenty of levels and all the powerups you could wish for #Breakout game #Arcade game #Arkanoid remake #Pirate #Treasure #Collect
Breakout has practically created a genre of its own over the years, given the fact that there are thousands of remakes and clones out on the market. Naturally, they are not all worth playing, but you can find plenty of gems in the pile and have a lot of fun with them. In fact, as long as the core gameplay mechanics are decent and there are enough levels, all that matters is the theme itself.
Pirate's Treasure is a classic Arkanoid and Breakout-inspired game in which you have to search for treasure and do your best not to drop the ball in the meantime. As the title clearly mentions, the theme at hand is pirates and treasure, which means that you’ll be dealing with chests full of gold, wooden legs and various other similar stereotypes regarding the sea wolves.
To stick with tradition, high scores are an important part of the game, which means that you have to try and pick up every item that drops from the bricks you manage to break. On the other hand, not every powerup is beneficial, because some can work against you and even cause you to die instantly. However, you have plenty of time to avoid the items that look suspicious and only pick up the ones that provide you with bonuses.
Although all you need is the mouse to control the paddle, you can tell that the movement is very smooth and precise, which allows you to easily reach the ball when you need to do so. However, the difficulty level is a bit too low, because the paddle seems to be a bit too big to put you in any kind of trouble, given the rather small stages. Things get more tricky as you manage to get further and further, but it’s nowhere as tough as you might imagine.
As far as the graphics are concerned, you can tell that the technology used to render the environments is not very powerful, which results in washed out textures. However, the colors are nice and they can easily distract your attention. The music is a bit dull and gets repetitive after a while, but it’s a pretty small complaint.
All things considered, Pirate's Treasure may not be the best in its category, but it can certainly keep you busy for a while. Hence, as long as you enjoy this style of games and you do not mind the outdated graphics, you might as well give it a go and see whether you can find the treasure.
