Lucky Luke: Transcontinental Railroad
Travel back in time to the Wild West and lay the foundation for the great Transcontinental Railroad #Lucky Luke #Transcontinental Railroad #Time management #Luke #Transcontinental #Railroad
Many countries around the world have impressive structures on their territory, and some have stood the test of time for millennia. Egypt has its pyramids, China has a long wall, and the United States have more than a few. The Golden Gate Bridge, the Empire State Building, and a variety of other huge constructions attest to the nation’s wealth and ambition.
Lucky Luke: Transcontinental Railroad is a time management game that challenges you to undertake one of the most ambitious projects in American history, and make sure that everything goes according to plan. Your main tasks are to gather resources and make sure that the Dalton brothers do not interfere with your workers, but speed and precision are vital elements as well.
The story puts you in the shoes of a cowboy by the name of Lucky Luke, who is chosen to oversee the construction and keep the workers safe at all times, and that’s no small task. The Dalton brothers are the villains, and you have to knock out their henchmen every once in awhile to maintain the order and keep the construction going. You move from city to city every couple of missions, not to mention the fact that you also have the chance to learn a thing or two about history.
Just like in every other time management game out there, the main objective is to move quickly and take care of multiple things at once. Whether you have to collect resources, clear roads, or just build new facilities to produce raw materials, everything has to be done as quickly as possible. At the end of the level, your total completion time is used to award you a certain number of stars. Obviously, the faster you move, the more stars you are presented with.
Although it doesn’t feel like it in the beginning, the game gets pretty tricky after a certain point, especially when many things are happening at the same time. Thugs invade your territory, resources need to be collected, and the railroad constantly needs repairs. Thankfully, you only have to make use of the mouse to keep all these things in check, so it’s still a manageable task.
In the end, Lucky Luke: Transcontinental Railroad is the kind of game that can distract you for hours and still be fun, which is why every time management fan should give it a spin. Moreover, the history facts teach you a thing or two about what went on during the real construction.
