Right off the bat, Lost Lands: The Four Horsemen is one of the best hidden object games I’ve come across, and I’ve seen tens of them in the last few months. There are several reasons for why it stands out so much, and each one of them will draw you into the story and create a very pleasant experience.
The first thing that gives you a good feeling about what to expect from Lost Lands: The Four Horsemen is the intro cinematic. Unlike in ninety percent of hidden object titles, this one looks excellent. From the animations to the voice acting, it all comes together perfectly.
The best part is yet to come. After a great first impression, Lost Lands: The Four Horsemen continues to shine. Being a fantasy game, the world in which the action takes place is different than the real one, and it is, but what’s wonderful about it is the fact that it was created by someone who knows what he or she or they were doing.
It all looks great, and one thing I personally appreciate about it is the fact that every single object, clickable or not, is perfectly blended into its surroundings. That makes them harder to spot, and it increases the difficulty level of the game with a purpose.
With only sixty minutes of demo time you can’t complete the game but if it carries out as well as it does until that time limit, Lost Lands: The Four Horsemen is going to impress some people. If not with the story alone, then with the look and quality of everything that went into it.
As far as the gameplay goes, it follows the traditional flow that the hidden object genre has made very familiar. No, that that’s an inconvenience; only this time, it feels right.
As I said, I’ve seen and experienced a large number of hidden object titles and this one is by far one of the best. It’s obvious that a good deal of work went into creating a quality game. Although it’s not innovative, the experience certainly makes up for that.
