Little Bug Demo

There are many interesting platformers out there, and they each have some sort of gimmick that helps players have fun and remember the experience. However, it’s tough to innovate anything in terms of gameplay mechanics, especially since some thought about the same thing as you at one point. Even so, it’s worth giving it a try, if only to gain some experience and do it better next time.

Little Bug is a cute little puzzle-platformer in which your main task is to overcome environmental obstacles and make your way across tough levels full of traps and puzzles. The primary attraction is the way you move, on the other hand, because the main character has a special link to her firefly that allows her to create a link between them and use it to move quickly from one spot to the other.

The story starts with what appears to be a car crash and the little girl who walks away from the wreckage and starts looking for her mother. Naturally, the road ahead is dark and full of dangers, but the light from the firefly should keep her safe. As you can probably tell, the story is not very complex, but then again it doesn’t really need to be anyway.

A controller is recommended to play the game comfortably, but you can do it on a keyboard as well. Thus, one analog stick controls the character and the other controls the firefly, which means that the two characters can move independently from each other. In fact, there are some sections that require a certain character to go first in order to be able to advance to the next section, which is where the puzzle part comes up.

As for the graphics, they are a cross between Limbo and maybe Ori and the Blind Forest, although not as beautiful as them. It’s a small indie production, on the other hand, and it’s not even finished yet, which means that it could get a lot better in the future. The controls are pretty accurate and responsive, even if it takes a while to get used to them.

When it’s all said and done, Little Bug has a decent chance to become a fan favorite in the future, especially if the graphics and the gameplay are polished a little bit. On the other hand, the game can be pretty boring for some people as well, depending on your expectations.
