Landlord Simulator Demo
Collect the rent, hire contractors to fix your houses or work on them yourself in this simple simulator focused on the life of a landlord #Simulation game #Open world #Adventure game #Landlord #Simulator #Sim
As weird as it may sound to someone who is not a gamer, many people have tons of fun with seemingly mundane simulators that are basically as tedious as their real counterpart. You only need to check the Steam pages for titles like Farming Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator or Bus Simulator to see just how popular such games are.
However, the truth of the matter is that if developers put the word “simulator” in the title, the expectations are quite high in terms of realism.
Landlord Simulator is about as straightforward as its name implies, although it does try to bundle a few interesting features as well. In essence, you play the role of a landlord as he goes around the neighborhood trying to maintain the houses and collect rent from his tenants. The money you make is then spent on buying even more houses, as well as on repairs for the ones you already have.
The goal is to make more money and keep your tenants happy, otherwise they can take off and leave your houses unoccupied. Although Landlord Simulator is in Early Access at the moment, it must be said that the content is very thin, with very few things to actually do. Thus, most of your time is spent waiting for the in-game timer in order to collect rent and increase your fortune.
The houses are expensive, on the other hand, which means that you really have a lot of waiting to do. Not only that, but a large portion of the money goes to maintenance, which forces you to wait even longer until you are able to make progress.
Speaking of maintenance, you can use the money to hire contractors in order to fix various problems, but it’s also possible to fix them yourself. Unfortunately, this is even more tedious than it sounds, mainly because every task features the same mini-game where you have to time your clicks in order to capture moving triangles.
There are also no people to interact with throughout the whole neighborhood, so you are pretty much left alone with nothing to do if you are not in the mood to fix someone’s sink. Granted, more content is probably going to be added in future versions, but at the moment there’s little incentive to keep going.
Lastly, the interface is not very well thought out either, especially since you have to press escape in order to exit a house, rather than simply interacting with the door or something like that. There’s also no automation whatsoever or any kind of information panel, so you either have to remember when everyone’s rent is due or walk around to see if there’s money in front of their house.
With all this in mind, Landlord Simulator definitely has potential, but you need to make sure you are comfortable with the current lack of content. The game is early in its development phase right now, so you might be better off waiting for more additions in the upcoming months.
