Jekyll and Hyde Demo

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde are quite popular around the world and almost everyone knows at least a little about the doctor who sometimes turns into a gruesome monster to deal with his problems. However, there are rather few video game representations of his universe, for some reason, although many people inspired from the story and created similar ones.

Jekyll and Hyde is an adventure game with some platformer elements in which you have to tackle a few puzzles and try to navigate tricky levels while you’re at it as well. The 3D environments can provide you with quite the challenge and you must choose the right moment to turn from Jekyll to Hyde, otherwise you can get stuck and have to repeat the previous section.

As far as the story is concerned, it is a bit ambiguous and it certainly does not put any kind of strain on your mind, given the fact that you just have to collect various items and piece them together toward the end. On the other hand, you do get to visit some interesting environments, such as trains and even graveyards, depending on the nature of the object you are searching for.

Just like all 3D games with a third-person point of view, the camera must work impeccably in order to keep with you at all times, especially if you decide to be quick about it and navigate the levels in a hurry. However, in the game at hand, things do not go as smoothly as they should and you often find yourself unable to see the way ahead and falling off the thin platforms on which you have to walk.

The overall gameplay itself is a bit sketchy as well, since the puzzles are very easy and the platforming sections are only made difficult by the fact that you are encumbered by the controls and the camera. Thus, the entire experience is more annoying than scary or entertaining, which is definitely not the kind of result you want out of a video game, especially not one featuring such grandiose names.

If you really want to see Dr. Jekyll in action and watch him transform into the monster by the name of Hyde, then you can give Jekyll and Hyde a try and endure the pain. However, if you want a good adventure game, or some entertaining platformer to pass the time with, there are many other choices you can make, all of which are much more likely to make you happy.
