Save your kingdom from your evil brother in this action-platformer with puzzles and a basic RPG system #Action platformer #Adventure game #Arcade platformer #Platformer #Adventure #Action
Kings had a lot of responsibility on their shoulders back in the day, mainly because most of them held almost all the power in the kingdom. Hence, they could easily turn evil and come up with draconian laws that alienated the population, but then again that’s a pretty useless tactic. Because of this, most kings tried to their best, while those who tortured people eventually ended up in a pretty bad shape themselves.
IronSaga is an action-platformer in which you play the role of a knight who’s trying to stop his brother from destroying the legacy of their father. The game is very fast-paced and challenging, especially when it comes to how the enemies react whenever you get close to them. Even so, the action is pretty engaging, at least if you enjoy a good platformer with RPG elements.
The story is pretty nice as well, although there’s nothing new under the sun when it comes to the plot. As such, you play the role of a young man whose past is that of a glorious warrior, yet his father the king is a supporter of peace. However, one day your brother poisons the king and takes his place, after which he proceeds to hire sorcerers to protect himself and bring the kingdom to its knees.
The knight has the ability to attack using a sword or a rotating ball of steel, the latter of which is a ranged attack that comes in handy in certain situations. Not only that, but you can also upgrade both of your weapons at the blacksmith whenever you stumble upon one of his shops, but you should know that you need a lot of gold to do that. Thankfully, almost everything you do is rewarded with gold coins.
There are many types of enemies as well, each one of which has a different attack style or strategy. Hence, the wizards throw things at you, while heavily armored warriors simply charge with their shield toward you. There are certain tricks you can use against all of them, but you need to play for a while in order to learn them.
In the end, IronSaga is not that original in regards to gameplay mechanics or story, but it’s quite polished and engaging, not to mention challenging. Thus, it can provide you with quite a bit of fun under the right circumstances.
