Infinium Strike Demo

Infinium Strike is a turret defense that’s been cleverly disguised as a strategy game. It went through a Kickstarter campaign and Steam Greenlight, and we can now finally plan the demo.

You might think that if you’ve seen a turret defense you’ve seen them all, but developers find new ways of expanding this genre. Infinium Strike puts players in the role of a weapons officer aboard the Freedom Strike carrier, fighting wave after wave of enemies.

The idea is that the ship stays in the middle of the screen at all times, and you're in charge of building the defenses, and in sending various ships to intercept the incoming aliens. Unlike most games in this genre, Infinium Strike tries to do a lot of things differently, while keeping some of the old concepts.

When you’re in the center of the screen all the time, each map is basically the same, but the number or variety of aliens will vary. The Freedom Strike carrier can be attacked from all sides, so it’s up to you to build various turrets or to upgrade the existing ones.

As usual, it’s up to player to judge if he wants to build a new weapon or to upgrade them, and this conundrum will follow him all the time. In the end, the only thing that will definitely help them is the variety of defenses because you are going to be attacked from sides, and with all kinds of ships.

The ship is protected by a shield and players need to keep an eye of that at all times. It can be recharged from time to time, but aliens will try to take it down. The good news is that the learning curve is slow. The downside is that as you progress through the levels, the battles become massive and tough to handle.

The developers from Codex Worlds Corp. promise a full single player campaign, multiple levels of difficulty, and an experience not easy to forget, especially since Infinium Strike features a beautiful engine and really small system requirements. Pretty much anyone with a computer built in the last five years will be able to get 60 FPS at full HD resolution.
