Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb DEMO
Indy must solve the mystery of the Heart of the Dragon and return the artifact to its rightful owners #Indiana Jones #Adventure Game #Emperor's Tomb #Indy #Indiana #Tomb
Indy is always on a dangerous mission, whether it's to retrieve an ancient artifact of untold power, or to stop the bad guys from doing the same. In Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, he is trying to achieve both things at once, since he attempts to stop a group of evil men from putting their hands on the Heart of the Dragon, by getting there before them.
Although the role of Indiana Jones in video games has been claimed by Lara Croft a long time ago, the title at hand is an adventure game as well, featuring similar mechanics. Thus, Indy must explore dangerous locations around the world, by overcoming various traps and obstacles with the use of his trusty whip, as well as many other gadgets he stumbles upon over the course of the story.
Speaking of which, the plot centers around an Asian mob organization that goes by the name of the Black Dragon Triad, which formed an alliance with Albrecht Von Beck, a German mercenary. Together, they hope to find and get their hands on the powerful Heart of the Dragon artifact, which is actually a black pearl that supposedly allows the owner to control minds. Contracted by an Asian business man, Indy needs to retrieve the pearl himself and bring it to China, where it rightfully belongs.
Over the course of the story, you meet up with other well-known characters as well, such as the beautiful assistant by the name of Mei Ying, who helps you overcome the obstacles that lay ahead and defeat your enemies. As far as the combat system is concerned, Jones can use his fists to bring down the opponents, but the whip and various guns can be used as well, although they are much harder to use and aim.
Other than that, most of the time is spent by trying to advance through the levels, which are riddled with ledges, deep water and a lot of other obstacles that deny you safe passage. Although it can be pretty fun to navigate the environment, the badly implemented controls and the horrible camera placement in some position make it annoying instead, since you are always liable to fall or not be aware of the surroundings because the camera is not steady enough.
In the end, Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb features some nice ideas, but almost all of them are pretty badly implemented and you can't quite manage to enjoy them. Other than that, the levels are nicely made and there are plenty of mysterious to solve.
