Match-three games are designed to be both easy and challenging at the same time, which is difficult to achieve. However, there are a few tricks developers use to make the experience feel rewarding, such as allowing players to use power-ups, or adding new mechanics over the course of the game. Even so, at this point it can be rather difficult to come up with new ideas in the genre.

India Garden is a match-three game in which you have to tackle a variety of simple puzzles, as well as work on restoring a beautiful garden that’s been struck by a curse. The mechanics are not the classic ones you might be familiar with from other games in the genre, but they are simple enough to be learned from the first few minutes. Hence, instead of moving tiles around to get a match, you simply shoot tiles from the bottom and try to stack at least three of them in order to clear them from the board.

To begin with, the story revolves around a beautiful garden that must be restored, and the whole action takes place in India. Hence, you have to raise enough money to buy new plants, as well as afford various upgrades in order to dispel a terrible curse that affects the garden in question. The whole decoration mini-game takes place between the actual levels, so it doesn’t take long, unless you have a hard time deciding on what colors to use.

Since the goal is to clear the board, it’s a bit tougher to do so than in a regular match-three game, mainly because new tiles keep appearing if you make mistakes. On top of that, there are all sorts of other obstacles you have to overcome, such as locked tiles or various traps that make your life harder. Thus, it shouldn’t be difficult to keep yourself entertained for at least a few hours.

As for the graphics, they certainly do not impress in any way, but they are colorful and enjoyable enough not to be a bother. It’s a bit of a shame that most of the levels look the same, but then again you are usually too focused on solving the puzzles to notice that. There’s a nice soundtrack playing in the background at all times.

India Garden is a bit different than most of the games in the genre, but not enough to set itself apart in any way. Hence, it gets pretty repetitive after a while, but it’s also a bit more challenging than what you may be used to.
