Imperium: Arena of Death

Imperium: Arena of Death is a career simulation game where you'll be traveling to the ancient Roman Empire and get the chance to run your own gladiator training center.

Good warriors are hard to find

Enter the world of the ancient Romans where gladiator fight are organized in order to keep the people of the empire content and distracted. Slaves from all the corners of the world are amassed in the Capital and trained to be able to provide a good show in the arena. Sometimes a single warrior has to face multiple enemies, at times lots of fighters are pitted against each other in an effort to recreate famous battle and on some occasions wild animals like bears or tigers are thrown in the arena while the men fight to survive.

You'll take on the role of a Citizen of the Empire, a man who wants more than anything else to have the best fighters in the arena. Just like in the football season, the fights in the arena are well organized and wagers are placed on the best of warriors.

You must scout the warrior barracks and choose only the fighters you seem deemed for you and your title. Unfortunately, if a warrior benefits from a set of good skills, it has quite a high chance of having some other, not so desirable, “qualities”: fights in his free time, asks for more money, like to take unnecessary risks.

Organizing the fight

Once you found that special fighter you must advance him to the role of first warrior and pit him in the arena against other opponents. You'll be able to leave the most weaker fighter in the barracks and allow them to train or set on quests. Quest vary in days and when returning from a quest, the hero can gain skill points and bring riches. There is also the chance that your hero returns badly injured or even not to return at all.

Before each fight mare sure assign the battle strategy: your warrior can be aggressive, offensive or fight as he usually does. Commands can also be placed while in the middle of the battle: you can make him attack, become less aggressive or to continue fighting as before.

Being a simulation game, you won't actually be able to see the fights, big disappointment on my end, yet they're described with quite a few details so you will feel like you're a spectator in the arena.

The more citizens attend the fights, the higher the bet and also your profit in the end. Don't expect to win every fight, sometimes retreat is the best strategy. While your main fighter heals you can continues the season with your second warrior.

It all depends on your managerial skills

The visuals are nothing to write home about, yet they don't have to be as no actual fight are ever shown. The sounds are quite well reproduced and allow the player to enter his role as a Citizen of the Republic.

The fans of fighting or wrestling games will simply eat up Imperium: Arena of Death, as it features complex gameplay and a subject not so addressed by current video games. Use strategy and your management skills in order to bring up your warriors and to win as many fights as possible.
