ICARUS.1 Demo

ICARUS.1 is a Sci-fi adventure game developed and published by a studio named electrolyte that will keep players on the edge of their seats.

Adventure games are rarely nail-biting, but ICARUS.1 is different in almost every aspect from other similar titles. If it wasn’t played from a first person perspective, we would say that it’s a point and click adventure. The demo level plays pretty much like that, with the player finding information about the story and solving puzzles.

The dark and bleak surroundings of the ship that you’re investigating really take a toll on the player, especially since you don’t expect to feel in danger when playing this kind of titles. I thought that I was going to run for my life at any minute, and each corner was hiding the thing that it’s going to kill me. If this isn’t good level design, I don’t know what is.

You take on the role of Sam, a guy that wants to see if he can find any resources from an abandoned ship that has been lost for decades.

ICARUS.1 was a ship that was gathering minerals from the system’s outlying planets, but somehow it got lost. The company that was running it didn’t investigate the disappearance and the ship was slowly forgotten.

How Sam came to know about it and board it is a mystery, but he manages to enter the lost ship. He has a single goal in mind, to find out where the minerals are and make a fortune. As soon as you step on the ship, you will find that there is more to this story.

For example, where is everyone, why are there some signs of fighting aboard the ship, and how come that it’s still working after so long. The ship is really close to the Sun, and you manage to power up parts of the ship.

The demo for the game isn’t very long, and the developer promises that the final version of the game will have four chapters. The level design and the overall quality of the game are really good, and we expect for ICARUS.1 to be a success.
