Being an adult usually means having a home of your own, and the good part about is that you get to decorate it as you desire. Furniture is an important part of every house, especially since a lot of it has some kind of practical purpose as well. Hence, whether it’s a table, a lamp or some kind of chair, everything must fit in nicely, or at least well enough not to clutter your home.

Höme Improvisåtion is a sandbox game that features a pretty basic concept, one that you probably wouldn’t consider to be video game material: furniture assembly. As such, your goal is to assemble various chairs, tables and lamps piece-by-piece, preferably with the help of your friends. Although it sounds boring and repetitive, the experience can be surprisingly enjoyable, not to mention hilarious.

Each piece of furniture comes in a box full of components, and there are not really any instructions on how to obtain the final design. Granted, there’s a picture of it on the box, but it doesn’t remain on screen after the pieces are removed from it. You can go off-script and obtain other objects as well, depending on how creative you are feeling.

To make the experience even more enjoyable, the game supports multiplayer as well, which means that up to four people can tackle the same task at once. However, it can be pretty disorienting to do so, especially in the beginning when no one knows what to do. On the other hand, the learning process is quite hilarious in itself, at least if you keep an open mind.

Speaking of which, the controls are a bother as well, mainly because it’s difficult to handle 3D objects from a fixed perspective. While you can sort of rotate the camera a little bit, the angle remains more or less the same, which means that you have to move the objects around at all times in order to see every side of them. This is particularly frustrating when the objects are circular.

Despite the control and camera trouble, Höme Improvisåtion can still be a pretty enjoyable experience if you don’t take it very seriously. It’s that much more amusing if you play it with friends.
