Guns of Infinity Demo
Fight in the war of powder and magic while choosing whether to be a hero or a traitor #Interactive story #Choose your adventure #Role-playing game #Adventure #Role-play #Story-rich
It’s been a while since text-based adventure games stopped being a thing, mostly because it’s so cheap and convenient to use 3D graphics nowadays. On the other hand, it’s very difficult to express the same level of detail in a modern game, unless you have a huge studio with hundreds of employees working on the game in question.
Guns of Infinity is a text-based role-playing game in which you are free to choose exactly how your character evolves over the course of the story, as well as how he handles every situation. It’s a “Choose Your Adventure” flick, meaning that there are many ways you can replay the game and obtain different endings. Not only that, but the whole journey can be different as well.
To begin with, the main plot revolves around a war between magic and technology, and it’s worth noting that the game itself is a continuation of a previous episode called Sabres of Infinity. This time around, you play the role of a commander trying to leave his mark on the war at the request of the king. Whether you are ordering the troops around or deciding what to say in front of a lady, everything is left for you to decide.
Given the fact that this is a direct sequel, you have the option to import your character choices from the first game and continue from where you left off. On the other hand, you can also choose from a couple of character templates, such as a gallant hero or a devious scoundrel trying to get rich. Each choice has repercussions, on the other hand, especially when it comes to how the other characters perceive you.
As you may have already guessed, there are no graphics to speak of in the entire game, only text to get your imagination going. This shouldn’t be a problem if you enjoy reading, but it might be a turnoff for those who are aching for Unreal Engine 4 and 4K textures. There’s no soundtrack either, which means that you might have to fill the silence with your own music.
All things considered, Guns of Infinity is certainly a great story, especially if you are a fan of the genre and you enjoy fantasy tropes. You can replay the adventure multiple times without getting bored.
