Space simulators have always been quite popular with gamers, maybe because space travel is still such a far away dream for humanity. Hence, dogfights in other galaxies are just as exciting now as they were two decades ago when the first simulators of this kind were released. However, we’ve now got much more powerful graphics engines to render the beauty of space, so every new iteration in the genre is a sight to behold.

GoD Factory: Wingmen is a space combat simulator in which you have to shoot enemies and work as a team with your wingmen to complete a variety of missions. The game world is quite open and you have complete freedom over the strategy you choose to implement, although things usually get pretty hectic once the lasers start flying and everything begins to explode.

Another important aspect of the game is the fact that you are free to customize your spaceship with new weapons and components, which greatly extends the fun. Not only that, but if you choose to play with your friends, you can even share the same ship with them and command different modules. In fact, the entire game has been optimized for team play, which is quite sad to see the player diminishing over time.

Just like in every other simulator of this kind, the controls are vital, and they can make the difference between a successful game and a failure. Thankfully, they work wonderfully in the title at hand, and you only need a few minutes to get accustomed to them. You can obviously learn a lot of new tricks and improve your handling in time, but everyone can easily enjoy the game from the start.

The visual aspect is quite important as well, although maybe not as much as the controls and the gameplay mechanics. In this case, the designers did a marvelous job and the game world looks amazing, especially when it comes to the planets and various other celestial bodies orbiting around you. The plethora of post-processing effects improves the atmosphere a lot as well.

Although GoD Factory: Wingmen is mostly aimed at those who enjoy the action and might not care too much about exploration, the game is definitely a must-have for every space sim fan. Unfortunately, the fact that there are fewer and fewer online players to have fun with is starting to hurt the experience.
