German Classics GP
A basic racing simulator that features some of the most famous German cars ever released #German Classics #Grand prix #Racing game #German #Classics #Gp
As it happens, Germany was always home to some of the most important car manufacturers in the world, thanks to their reputation for durability and exquisite craftsmanship. Over the years, manufacturers like Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche have released a great deal of legendary cars, many of which are still around today, whether in museums, or out on the streets.
German Classics GP is a racing game that aims to bring back the glory days and present you with the most famous models of them all, as well as allow you to drive them through a variety of landscapes. While not all of the cars were specifically built for racing and they cannot compete against supercharged Porsches, they can at least make an effort and try to best each other out.
As far as the actual game is concerned, it should be noted that the gameplay mechanics are not very realistic, especially when it comes to cornering, inertia and vehicle handling. The game does try, however, since every car reacts differently in turns and you really have to take into account your speed, otherwise you are bound to hit the walls that surround the tracks. Despite the fact that they won't damage your car, they will cause you to lose speed and lose the advantage.
One of the biggest flaws of the game is the fact that there are very few game modes and they don't really allow you to push the cars to their max. Thus, while the circuit races might be rather fun and entertaining, they quickly lose their appeal, especially since they are full of annoying turns and repetitive landscapes that go past you during each lap.
Visually, the cars themselves are nicely modeled and they do look like the real models they emulate, even if the geometry levels are extremely low. The environments, however, lack any kind of detail and they get very repetitive after a while, mostly because the circuit-based races force you go around the same route multiple times. Moreover, there are always walls of fences that keep you on the track and make it very easy to just keep on flooring the gas pedal.
While the main idea may sound rather fun, German Classics GP fails to make the experience worthwhile and there's really nothing to keep you playing after you see the few tracks and vehicles that are available. Hence, the lack of more game modes and a bit of environmental diversity may prove to be too much for some to accept.
