Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers Demo
A real-time tactical game that features a more realistic take on war and the soldiers that are part of it #Spectrum Warrior #Ten Hammers #Tactical combat #Spectrum #Warrior #Hammers
Despite what movies and video games taught you about the war, running around the battlefield with a gun in each hand and shooting at anything that moves is not a valid army tactic, mostly because it would not hold up in a real situation for more than a few seconds. Alternatively, the soldiers have to move carefully from cover to cover, even when they are not facing more than a few enemies at once.
Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers is the sequel to the highly-acclaimed tactical game that changed the way people look at the war, by employing some very creative and clever gameplay mechanics. Thus, the game almost fully takes away your ability to aim and shoot at the enemies, by emphasizing on squad placement and your ability to use the environment to your advantage.
Corners and fallen debris become your best friends and you quickly learn to automatically take cover whenever you encounter enemy forces. During each fight, you get to issue the attack orders and watch as the soldiers do their best to shoot the foes, but you also get to intervene by taking advantage of your squad's special abilities. Hence, it is possible to manually maintain the suppressing fire for a few seconds and allow the other squad to advance further, as well as throw grenades and snipe out the enemies who prefer to stay in cover most of the time.
As with the previous title, the game is presented from a very cinematic point of view, especially since you also get to be followed by a cameraman who intends on filming your every move through the war zone. This way, the events that take place during the game look like they are part of the movie and you have the main role in deciding how is it going to end.
Just like until now, you might need a bit of practice before you are able to properly coordinate your squad on the field, since there are a lot of shortcuts and possible actions. Moreover, their movement is controlled with mouse clicks, although you do not need to move as often as you might think, since the bullet exchanges with the terrorists can last quite a bit.
Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers can be finished even if some of the squad members die during the missions, which brings the game even closer to realism and forces you to take more care of them. Thus, just like its predecessor, this title scores high when it comes to story line, graphics and realism, while also bringing a lot of gameplay improvements and new possibilities that can be put into practice on the battlefield.
