Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich Demo
A team of superheroes starts a quest to defeat the Nazis and end their ruthless reign over Europe #Freedom Forces #Third Reich #Superhero Strategy #Freedom #Reich #Strategy
Regardless of the occasion, superheroes always happen to find themselves in deep trouble, even if they posses incredible abilities that should keep them safe from such situations. However, they also manage to get out mostly unscathed from them, even if they involve nuclear war, time travel and evil Nazi armies.
Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich presents a pretty grim scenario, one in which a time traveling incident causes a change in history that leads to the Third Reich winning the second World War, and thus spreading the Nazi influence all over Europe and the world. In order to stop it, a couple of superheroes go backwards in time and do everything in their power in order to bring things back to normal.
Just like in the previous episode, the game maintains the same gameplay mechanics, which means that it is still a combination of real-time strategy and role playing elements, combined with a healthy dose of tactics for good measure. Hence, you get to control the characters from a top-down perspective and use their special abilities to defeat the that stand in your way.
Although the number of characters has been increased with only a few new names, they all come with a variety of special skills that can turn the tide of each battle. Thus, whether you use Green Genie's magical spells, or make use of the crazy DYI weapons invented by the Black Jack, the combat is always fun and challenging, especially since you have complete control over each character at all times.
Graphically, the game's engine has been significantly improved since the last release, although it keeps the same comic book style, complete with thick black outlines and funny exclamations like “Pow!” and “Boom!” whenever the characters engage in fights. Moreover, the camera can be rotated whichever way you want and you can even zoom into the action as much as you want, in case you want to have a better look at the superheroes.
In the end, Freedom Force vs. The Third Reich manages to successfully combine a wide array of elements, all of which work together to create a unique atmosphere and an engaging gameplay that has you asking for more. The humor is present at every step, since every situation is present in a semi-humorous manner.
