Flying Islands Chronicles
Defend the floating islands from robots gone rogue and defeat the evil Emerald Master in this time management game #Time management #Strategy game #Casual strategy #Strategy #Island #Rebuild
In order for a time management game to be successful, it needs to feature tight gameplay mechanics and as many dynamic elements as possible, otherwise the experience gets repetitive and boring pretty quickly. However, you can always just leave and come back later if that happens, at least if the rewards for completing the levels are worth the effort.
Flying Islands Chronicles is a time management game that does not try to innovate anything about the genre or the gameplay mechanics, but it does feature a unique setting and a few interesting challenges. Unfortunately, that is not enough to keep players engaged for too long, especially if you are familiar with other time management games and know that there are far better examples out there.
The story revolves around a couple of floating islands and their residents, who one day get attacked by the same robots they built to make their lives easier. In the aftermaths, most of the villages are destroyed, leaving the islands in shambles. Your task is to rebuild the cities, clear the roads and stop the one controlling the robots, in order to return them to their previous masters.
What makes Flying Islands Chronicles very repetitive and annoying is the fact that there is usually just one way to solve a level, and it’s not even a hidden solution. You know how everything is going to go from the start, which means that it all boils down to how quickly you can click and how patient you are. Each obstacles requires some kind of resources to be removed, so it’s an endless cycle with not much room for excitement.
Still, you can lose yourself in the simple mechanics for a while, at least if you truly want to compete for the best times. Lastly, the graphics are just as basic and neglected as everything else, although they are not actually horrible. They just fall very flat, and it would seem like no time at all was spent on adding detail into the scenery.
All things considered, Flying Islands Chronicles has nothing new and nothing exciting to dazzle you with, so there’s no need to quit playing the TM game you are enjoying at the moment. However, it should still do the trick if all you are searching for is something to keep your fingers busy when you get bored.
