Flip switches and turn on all the lights in the level, using a variety of combinations to get it right #Puzzle Game #Casual Game #Solve puzzle #Puzzle #Light #Switch
Solving puzzles is a relaxing and satisfying activity for most people, which is why crosswords and similar games are so popular around the world. The video games industry profits a lot from this, and there are countless titles released every day that provide players with a challenge. However, it’s not enough for the puzzles to be difficult, because it must also be exciting to keep going in spite of the frustration.
Flick is a simple puzzle game in which you just have to turn on every light in the level, using a selection of switches. The actual gameplay is a bit more complicated than that, but not by much, and it doesn’t get any more interesting than that anyway. On the other hand, you can still find the puzzles fun even after they start getting repetitive.
The first few levels have more of an introductory role, and they help you get acquainted with the general gameplay style. As such, there is a pattern of lights in the middle of the screen and you must turn them all on in order to move on to the next stage. However, some of the switches are connected to common lights, which means that pressing both of them as the undesired effect of canceling the other one out.
To make matters more interesting, there is a timer going on in the background, which means that you have a set time limit to complete each level. However, you can just keep playing like it doesn’t matter, because it’s easy to repeat the stage as many times as you wish. Depending on how quickly you manage to finish the puzzles, a certain grade is given to you, which can be improved by obtaining a better score.
Visually, the game is as simple as it gets, with no flashy graphics and barely anything to look at besides the dull switches and the lights themselves. Naturally, it doesn’t really make a difference in this case, because whether the graphics are impressive or not, no one pays attention to them. However, the sound is missing entirely, and it would be nice to have some kind of music in the background.
All things being equal, Flick is not a bad idea, but it’s poorly designed and it fails to keep the players interested for more than a few minutes. Hence, it still needs a lot of work in order to present any interest to puzzle lovers.
