Fear For Sale: Hidden in the Darkness Collector's Edition
Find a couple of missing people and deal with yet another evil spirit invasion in this mystery game #Fear for sale #Mystery game #Adventure game #Adventure #Mystery #Puzzle
Spirits always seem be communicating with people whenever they need help, so it’s a wonder fewer and fewer individuals believe in the supernatural. However, no one says no to a great fantasy story if it’s written nicely and it features enough of a mystery to keep you interested. Casual audiences are even more excited about the prospect, which is mostly obvious in the hidden object adventure genre.
Fear For Sale: Hidden in the Darkness is a basic HOPA with nothing special in terms of gameplay mechanics or overall presentation, but the story is intriguing enough to keep you busy until the end. Hence, if features the same repetitive puzzles and simple hidden object sequences, but there’s always a tantalizing mystery that prevents you from giving up too soon.
In this case, it all starts when the main character is contacted by a ghost that tells you about some mysterious disappearances around Drammond Island. Obviously, supernatural forces are involved in the story, so there’s quite the trip ahead. Besides the main story, there are also a few side missions that add more suspense to the overall experience.
The gameplay follows the same rules you might be used to from other titles in the genre, which means that your duty is to examine each scene for items that come in handy and pick them up for later use. These can then serve as puzzle pieces and help you unlock doors, open containers or perform a variety of other actions. Not much can be said about the puzzles, on the other hand, since most of them follow the same pattern when you get right down to it.
As for the graphics, they are certainly detailed, mainly when it comes to the environments and the objects that decorate each scene. A lot of work went into the landscapes, so it truly feels like walking into a different world whenever you are exploring creepy alleys or various buildings. Even the sound effects contribute to the overall atmosphere, although the voice acting can be a bit sketchy sometimes.
In conclusion, Fear For Sale: Hidden in the Darkness brings together a plethora of engaging elements, as well as nice graphics and a decent mystery for you to tackle. Granted, it lacks the depth needed to be a memorable story, but then again this is an experience for lazy afternoons, not the kind of opera that needs multiple playthroughs to understand.
